Now that has got to put a smile on everyone's face. What does this amazing news mean for you, the (stupid) renter? It means that house prices will "ease" because the "supply" of housing will increase. Do you follow, stupid? Probably not. But don't worry, all you need to know is that buying a house in the far reaches of Melbourne is something that all the smart people are doing. Are you smart? Sure you are. So, if you are smart and if you don't mind traveling to and from work for several hours every single day, then Melbourne (technically country Victoria) is just the right place for you.
So, this weekend, get up early (I suggest 4am), fill your car up and drive out to the, as yet, unnamed suburbs that lie just 40km north of Craigieburn (100km north of the CBD). When you get there, take a look around - it's your new home, stupid.
