I remain prepared to pay a fair price for a home for my family. This is approximate 60% of what houses were selling for at the peak of the boom. This is about 20% more than before the boom started because I am fair.
Until then, I will continue to rent this house and give the owner a net return of about 2% while my deposit earns 5%.
Dare I mention that negative gearing only works if house prices are going up ... oh oh ...
