how to upload an image with it's location
help develop the project itself here: EmptyHousesProject Image Location InstructionsTo upload an image with it's location so it can be geotagged on the empty houses map, the dead building sites map or the unused land map: 1. open this upload link in a new tab. 2. Choose the right gallery now before you forget. 3. Find the latitude and longitude of the site here either by putting it's full address in, or by zooming in and finding it (or a bit of both). Click the '+' sign next to the words "map and geotagging for this page" to get the latitude and longitude and copy and paste them into the fields in the image upload page. (you'll forget - the big number is the longitude, the latitude is approx -30 in Aus). Try not to double click on this page while moving the map around - otherwise you will inadvertently go into edit mode. We'll find a better way than this eventually. some people are having trouble seeing the map in this page. please let me know your browser and system in the discussion on this page so we can try to fix it 4. Put a good brief description in - eg "this house has been empty for 2.5 years as at may 2008" or "work stopped on this building site in 2006" rather than just "brick house" or "building site" 5. Make sure you chose the right gallery and the coordinates make sense (long about 150, lat about -30) 6. upload the file If you muck one up and it appears in the wrong position then just upload it again properly and message me with the image Id to let me know which one to remove. Feel free to add any tips you work out here. This is a collaborative project, just edit the page. failing all that please upload your photos and message me the addresses for them and I will put the geotag locations in when I can. Not confident to upload them at yourself, but want to help? email the address (preferably with photo) to dan@bubblepedia.net.au. |
